back-to-school series: school supplies

by Molly Swientoniewski

While Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, school-supply shopping comes in at a close second. Perhaps this is due to the recent surge of designers expanding their merchandise to cover almost every single one of your office supply needs. I know that adorable notebooks and writing utensils are an incentive for me to go to class just so I can use them!

I'm first going to go over agendas that I've been loving this season. Now, for the past five years I have used the infamous Lilly Pulitzer agenda (and for good reason!). They are colorful and efficient; however, I am not a fan of spiral-bound agendas. Every single year after Christmas Break the spiral rings in the agenda become an uncoiling mess. I carry my agenda everywhere with me, so it gets pretty beaten up! While I loved that Lilly Pulitzer came out with covered spiral agendas this year (and in my favorite print–Lobstah Roll), I decided I needed a change. I got the "I Am Very Busy" agenda for this school year. I love the quirky sayings spread throughout and I absolutely love pink and gold together! I decided to make it my own with a glitter monogram decal, thanks to YouGotPersonal on Etsy!

Here are a few of my favorite agendas for this season: "I Am Very Busy" Agenda; Lilly Pulitzer Covered Spiral in Lobstah Roll; Gigi New York 2016 Daily Journal in Peacock Embossed Python Leather; Kate Spade 2016 Large Agenda in Quick and Curious

I always think it's super important to take notes by hand, so why not take them in a super cute notebook? These notebooks will definitely make taking notes a little more bearable.

I always carry a cute little tumbler or mug with me during the year. Starbucks gives a 10% discount to those who bring their own cup for their order. It doesn't seem like much, but trust me, it adds up after all those late nights at the library! Also, sipping on water keeps me from snacking all the time.

Here are some cute cups that I currently love: sip sip tumbler with straw; kate spade new york gold stripe thermal mug; simply southern mason jar tervis; ashley brooke designs hello sunshine tumbler

Pencil cases are usually too small to fit all my stuff, so I think cosmetic cases are a great alternative. Plus, if a pen spills, cosmetic cases are usually lined so it's easy to clean up and won't damage the fabric of the bag!

Finally I thought it would be necessary to add in some fun pens and pencils! I love all the cute sayings on these below!

I hope this post is helpful and helps make the dreadful first weeks of school a little more happy! These are just a few of the very many office supplies I've been loving, I'd be more than happy to answer questions about other products mentioned here or others!
