I am so excited to have teamed up with my local Simon Mall to shop some of the biggest back-to-school trends! Since I am a college student myself, I decided to gear this post towards trends that are more relatable for my college gals out there. Regardless if you're in college or not, I still believe y'all will love the finds from my shopping trip with Simon Malls! I'm dividing my shopping haul into two sections within this post, so be sure to read until the end!
FOR CLASS-TO-CLASS STYLE TO SNUGGLING UP TO STUDY (OR WATCH NETFLIX)...
Comfort is key when it comes to handling all that is thrown at you in college. From walking up and down an endless amount of stairs, always trying to stay awake during that one certain lecture, to pulling all-nighters in the library, having uncomfortable clothes shouldn't be on your list of worries. I like to call my class-to-class style "comfy chic" – so yes, it is possible to look good and feel good this back-to-school season. But I also have to note, if you're like me and your college life also includes watching endless episodes of The Office on Netflix, then this comfy chic style is great for that too.

OH-SO COZY CARDIGAN
I tend to find the buildings on campus to be a little on the chilly side, so I always bring a cozy cardigan with me to throw on in class! Also, they are great to layer with on cooler fall days– providing enough warmth without the bulk. This one I got at Forever 21 during my shopping trip is only $15 and it's SO soft!
YOUR (NEW) FAVORITE PAIR OF LEGGINGS
As a college student striving for utmost comfort (and good grades, of course), leggings are the perfect solution to what to wear to class in the fall and into the winter. I think a great majority of girls on college campuses would agree when I say there's no such thing as having too many pairs of leggings. Although you can never go wrong with your trusted pair of black leggings, there are so many fun colors and prints available now– like these burgundy ones (with pockets!!) I picked up at West Town Mall's Aerie store. I absolutely love this color in the fall and can't wait for the weather to get cooler so I can wear them! Be sure to check out all of Aerie's super cute & comfy leggings HERE.
...AND YOUR NEW FAVORITE SWEATSHIRT
Continuing on the whole comfort theme, I kept going back to feel this sweatshirt in Aerie (it's that soft). Although it does run a little big for a more oversized fit, I bought a medium for the length! On the website, this color is called "taupe," but I personally find it to be more of a mauvy blush color!
FOR A NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN...
For nights spent in the library studying for exams or working on projects, there are also those that are spent going out with friends for a fun night out on the town! It's all about balance, so be sure your wardrobe is balanced with comfy clothes and "going out" clothes! Remember, it all comes down to what you feel best in, but I would love to share what I bought that I thought would be great additions to any college girl's closet!
Keep reading to find out what pieces I found at West Town Mall that are perfect for a night out with friends! As mentioned before, just click any image below for a direct link!
THE NEW "IT" MINISKIRT IS DENIM
It's a little dressier than jean shorts but more casual than your bold leather skirt– a denim skirt meets in the middle and goes with pretty much everything. I purchased this two-toned one after falling in love with its flattering fit at PacSun in the mall. I always find it difficult to find a skirt than is long enough on me and this one was absolutely perfect! I think the two tones of denim has a slimming effect due to the way the colors are paneled (plus, it opens up a ton of choices when it comes to what color to wear on top!)
...OR MAYBE IT'S CORDUROY
Although popular last year, corduroy skirts have returned this season and therefore becoming more of a staple rather than a trend. The Forever 21 at West Town Mall had quite the range of corduroy skirts in various colors & styles, but the blue color of this skirt was unique while also being a transition color for outfits caught between summer and fall. I've definitely seen my fair share of tan/camel corduroy skirts (like this one HERE) around campus, but this cornflower blue color is definitely more unique and thus statement-making!
NECKLINES FOR A NIGHT OUT
I bought this top to pair with the corduroy skirt I mentioned above, but I'll incorporating this in so many outfits! It seems that these tops with mock/cutout necklines are a part of the many trends for this back-to-school season. I find these tops to be the "upgraded" version of your go-to basic tee– these necklines just adds a little extra touch of fun!
To all my readers, I hope my finds from my shopping trip at West Town Mall give you some shopping inspo, whether you're heading back to school or not! I know there are a ton more trends out there this season, but these are just a few I figured to be the most relatable! If you have any questions, be sure to comment below or shoot me a message through my contact page! xoxo
A huge thank you to Simon Malls for sponsoring my back-to-school shopping trip – y'all are the best!!
